There are those rare and beautiful people who truly make an impact on generations of young people. Vic was one of those people, and a local hero to many. His legacy will continue to impact the lives of local youth through your contributions to Youth on Record in his memory. Your contribution will honor the work to which Victor dedicated his life by empowering young people to reach their academic, artistic, and personal best through access to the arts and creative expression.
Vic's 36-year career in education left a lasting impression on his thousands of students. His 20 years at Denver North High School “not only as a teacher of skills, but a mentor of values” were a highlight of his professional career. His work to restore the stage in the school's auditorium made way for a long list of amazing sets and productions under Vic's community-driven mentorship.
Those who loved him and were blessed to know him say that Vic had an "understated but somehow enormous presence.” He saw in others what they couldn't see in themselves, and the countless stories of Vic reflect his compassionate approach to his students, his sense of humor, and his tireless expectation for excellence. He was a continuous advocate for his friends and students; always ready to listen and look beyond a student’s immediate needs to help them find a sustainable path to success. He would buy a graduation cap and gown as quickly as he would fix a broken sprinkler, or repair an old necklace. He lived his values, and those around him were beneficiaries of his kindness, friendship, and love.
“He taught me the importance of process, and was always asking how I ended up at an outcome. He also showed me to live with conviction, and to give freely of my time and abilities. My life is a reflection of Vic's values.”
Again, we thank you for your meaningful gift.
