Compensation: $2000 stipend (in three installments)
Time commitment: 8-10 hrs per week
In-person hours: Tuesdays and Thursdays, 9 am-12 pm
August 19 - November 20, 2025
Qualifications:
- Open to young creatives, ages 18-24
- Must have a high school diploma or GED.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Some knowledge of audio production
- Proficiency using a Digital Audio Workstation (e.g., Ableton, Logic, Pro Tools, Audacity, etc.).
The Podcast Production Internship serves a small cohort of youth (ages 18-24), focusing on developing and deepening skills in audio production, storytelling, creative writing, interviewing, and project management through a critical lens. Interns will receive technical training, professional development, and the chance to produce original audio pieces featured on Youth on Record podcasts. The internship will include 6 hours per week of in-studio work at Youth on Record and 2-4 hours per week of asynchronous work. Upon completing this internship, interns will have a portfolio of original audio recordings and the skills to produce original pieces.
Interns will be expected to meet regular deadlines for their projects, and participate in workshops and seminars at our Youth Media Studio (and virtually as needed).
