Serafin Sanchez is a community strategy and product leader who brings over 15 years of experience in music education, community building, and technology to Youth on Record's Board of Directors. As Head of Community at Ableton, a pioneering music technology company, he led initiatives that connected and empowered thousands of music makers across the Americas. His work launching innovative education programs and managing remote teams has consistently driven engagement and fostered inclusive creative communities.
Before his current role leading community and product strategy at technology startups, Serafin served as one of Youth on Record's founding teaching artists. His deep commitment to music education includes positions at the University of Colorado Boulder, Regis University, and The Art Institutes, where he developed curriculum and mentored hundreds of emerging artists and producers.
As a professional saxophonist, Serafin has shared the stage with renowned artists including Ziggy Marley, Natalie Cole, Devotchka, The Colorado Symphony Orchestra, Big Gigantic, String Cheese Incident, Opio, Flobots, The Glenn Miller Orchestra, The Motet, and the USAF Falconaires. A Colorado native, he holds a Master of Music in Jazz Performance and Pedagogy from the University of Colorado Boulder. He continues to perform locally in the Denver Metro Area while applying his expertise in community-led growth strategies and music production to support Youth on Record's mission of empowering underserved youth through music education.
